Meet the Artist Behind Skylark Salon With over 25 years of experience in the industry, I bring a deep passion for hair, creativity, and connection to every client who sits in my chair. After many years working in Kansas City, I followed a long-held dream and moved to the French Quarter—where Skylark Salon was born. The name is a tribute to my two daughters, Skyler and Larkyn, and the spirit of individuality and beauty they inspire. Throughout my career, I’ve pursued advanced training in razor cutting, styling, and color at Bumble and Bumble in New York City, as well as certifications in balayage and corrective color with L’Oréal Professionnel. I specialize in color transformations, and have a particular passion for corrective color to help clients fall back in love with their hair. I also have a deep commitment to working with curly hair clients to embrace their natural texture, and supporting fine hair clients in achieving volume, confidence, and effortless beauty. Education and empowerment are at the heart of what I do. At Skylark, the experience is more than just hair. It’s a soul-centered, crown-honoring journey—a space for beauty, healing, and expression. I’m fueled by creativity, collaboration, and meaningful connections with like-minded individuals.

As Co-creator, Clint helped bring Skylark Salon to life from day one—shaping its style, energy, and soul. With 26 years of hairstyling experience, I bring a deep love of craft, creativity, and transformation to every client. After five exciting years in New York City—where I received advanced training in cutting and color through the renowned Blackstones Collective in the East Village—I returned to New Orleans nine years ago to keep building my career in the city I call home. While in NYC, I styled hair for New York Fashion Week and other high-profile fashion events. Today, I specialize in corrective color and love a good challenge. Hair painting is one of my superpowers, and I bring an artist’s eye to every head of hair I touch. In a previous life, I worked in theater doing wig styling, costume, and prop design—and that creative energy is still a huge part of who I am. I now create custom headpieces and ornamental costume pieces by commission, and you can always spot me on Fat Tuesday and Halloween turning heads. @nola.headpiece.and.ornament
